Winners Declared in Serbian Mathematics Olympiad

The winner of the Golden “Energy of Knowledge” Statue is Marijana Vujadinović from the Secondary School of Mathematics. The Silver Statue went to her schoolmate Ognjen Tošić, and the Bronze Statue was awarded to Ivan Damnjanović from the “Bora Stanković” Grammar School in the city of Niš. The “Energy of Knowledge” statuettes went to Aleksa Milojević and Aleksa Konstantinov from the Secondary School of Mathematics, and Anđela Šarković from the “Svetozar Marković” Grammar School in Niš. All the awardees are eligible to compete at the International Mathematics Olympiad, which will be held in Thailand in July this year. The two-day-long competition of young mathematicians, organized by the Mathematical Society of Serbia and the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development, was held on the 27th and 28th of March at the Secondary School of Mathematics. The winners of the Olympiad were awarded the “Energy of Knowledge” statues by Dr Snežana Lakićević, NIS manager for cooperation with educational and scientific institutions. In addition to the representatives of NIS, the award ceremony was attended by the State Secretary and Assistant Minister responsible for secondary education at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development, Snežana Marković, the Principal of the Secondary School of Mathematics, Srđan Ognjanović, MA, and the President of the Mathematical Society of Serbia, Professor Aleksandar Lipkovski. In addition to the Mathematical Olympiad, the company also supports physics, chemistry and Russian language Olympiads. It is precisely through the cooperation with universities and specialized scientific institutions that the company provides support to secondary school and university students, enabling thus the development of professional expertise, both for company-internal needs and the needs of the society as a whole.
