Winners of NIS-Supported Serbian Mathematics Olympiad Announced

For four years in a row, NIS has provided support for the organisation of the Serbian Mathematics Olympiad, as well as for the participation of the competitors in International Mathematics Olympiads The big Golden Statue "Energy of Knowledge" was won by Igor Medvedev, student of the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade. The big Silver Statue went to Nikola Pavlović from the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Grammar School in Novi Sad, while Aleksa Milojević from the Mathematical Grammar School won the Bronze Statue. Small "Energy of Knowledge" states were won by Aleksa Konstantinov, Nikola Sadovek and Ognjen Tošić, students of the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade. Winners of the Serbian Mathematics Olympiad have thus qualified to participate in the 57th International Mathematics Olympiad to be held in July this year in Hong Kong China. Serbian Mathematics Olympiad was held on April 1-2 in the Mathematical Grammar School, in the organisation of the Mathematical Society of Serbia and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. The ceremony of award presentation was attended by the professor PhD Vladimir Kostić, president of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, MSc Srđan Ognjanović, Director of the Mathematical Grammar School, PhD Vojislav Andrić, President of the Mathematical Society of Serbia, PhD Snežana Lakićević, NIS manager for cooperation with educational and scientific institutions, as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. For four years in a row, NIS has provided support for the organisation of the Serbian Mathematics Olympiad, as well as for the participation of the competitors in International Mathematics Olympiads. Within the programme "Energy of Knowledge", NIS also supports Olympiads in physics, chemistry and the Russian language.
