Aiming to contribute to the improvement of conditions in healthcare institutions dealing with reproductive health in our country, NIS has supported the procurement of modern equipment for the Health Center in Kanjiža.
The Health Center Kanjiža received modern medical equipment worth five million dinars, which will not only facilitate the work of healthcare professionals but also increase the number of patient examinations by as much as 70%. By acquiring modern ultrasound equipment with two probes, two CTG machines, and two electric gynecological examination tables adapted for people with disabilities, a more comprehensive and higher-quality examination of all women, especially pregnant women, was made possible. Also, the number of CTG examinations of pregnant women has increased by 50%, resulting in an overall improvement in the efficiency of preventive and diagnostic examinations for the residents of the municipality of Kanjiža.
This project was implemented through the socially responsible programme “Together for the Community”, which the company implemented last year under the slogan “Let New Hopes Be Born” with the aim of contributing to the national priority of improving reproductive health and increasing the birth rate.
The President of the Municipality of Kanjiža, Robert Fejstamer, emphasised the importance of NIS’ support and expressed his delight in having a shared goal and joint projects with the company every year. “I am very pleased that each year brings new innovations and we truly receive very significant projects and support,” Fejstamer said.
Milan Borenović, the Manager of the NIS’ Severni Banat Production Unit, thanked for the opportunity for NIS to assist the municipality of Kanjiža and its citizens. “We are pleased that this is already the 98th project we have supported in Kanjiža and we will continue to support this municipality,” Borenović emphasised on this occasion.
Dr. Karolina Đolai, the Director of the Health Center Kanjiža, highlighted the importance of the donation. “These devices are new to us and will significantly improve gynecological healthcare in Kanjiža,” Đolai said.
“Together for the Community”, the leading corporate social responsibility programme of NIS, celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. It is implemented in 13 partner cities and municipalities throughout Serbia, where NIS conducts the majority of its business activities. This year, NIS will invest 144.5 million dinars within the “Together for the Community” programme to improve the educational process and infrastructure of primary and secondary school facilities. Funds will also be directed towards the improvement of research and innovation capacities and infrastructure of scientific and research organisations and science and technology parks.
